A festival day with several generations can be a favorite part of a Lake weekend. It can also mean different walking speeds, different lunch plans, and one person trying to find everybody at departure time. Start with a meeting plan that works for your whole group rather than treating transportation as an afterthought.
The Eldon Area Chamber's 2026 festival page listed the 40th Annual Eldon Turkey Festival for Saturday, September 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the parade starting at 10 a.m. The page's older-looking URL doesn't change the 2026 information in the listing; check the displayed year whenever using an archived event link.
Choose what matters most to your group
If the parade is the priority, build arrival around being ready before it begins—not arriving at the same time. If your family prefers browsing and lunch, a shorter visit may fit better. A realistic plan is more enjoyable than trying to cover every part of the program.
Discuss walking distance, boarding needs, and where passengers can safely load. Downtown activities and parade access can affect the best meeting location. Follow current organizer and local instructions rather than assuming a vehicle can reach any intersection you choose.
Make the meeting instructions easy to share
Pick a recognizable meeting area and confirm an appropriate vehicle loading point. Give the group a time to regroup before the actual departure. That leaves space for restroom stops, gathering purchases, and helping anyone who needs a slower pace.
Traveling with children? Discuss child-restraint needs before confirming transportation. Tell the team about strollers or other bulky items instead of relying only on the passenger count. Don't assume special equipment or unlimited storage is included.
Separate the festival from the rest of the day
If you're staying in a Lake-area rental and heading to dinner afterward, include that in the request. A ride to Eldon and a later multi-stop evening are different service needs and should be quoted accordingly.
Contact Lake Ride Pros with your starting address, headcount, and intended outing. Event programming and access remain with the Chamber; a transportation reservation does not include festival purchases, special viewing space, or organizer affiliation.
